Winter Recipe: Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte

What's more comforting than a warm cuppa on a winter's day? We've discovered a new favourite to add to our list of delectable winter beverages: pumpkin spice latte - an American classic of note.

This beverage is not only warm and comforting but is beneficial for the immune system. Pumpkin contains vitamin C and zinc, exactly what is needed during the colder months of the year. Alpha and beta carotene, that have a positive effect on the skin and the eyes, are also found in pumpkin.

We like incorporating pumpkin into our product formulas thanks to its pampering effect. Our Repair & Care Shampoo & Conditioner contains fermented pumpkin that nourishes the scalp and enhances shine.

DIY pumpkin spice blend:

  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. cloves
  • ½ ginger
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • ½ tsp. cardamom

Pumpkin spice latte ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. pumpkin spice blend
  • 2 tbsp. pumpkin puree
  • Agave syrup, maple syrup or coconut blossom sugar to taste
  • 150 ml plant milk
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 espresso

Mix then gently heat the spice and sweetener of your choosing until the sugar has slightly caramelised.

Heat then froth the plant milk and vanilla pod. Pour a cup of espresso into a large mug, adding in the pumpkin-sweetener blend and the milk mixture.

Drink up and enjoy!
